Elba Ramalho on Tour in Europe

Elba Ramalho, the Brazilian singer, performer, and songwriter, who is sometimes called the “Queen of Forró”, has announced a European tour for next spring. Forró, the popular genre with its origin coming from the Northeastern part of Brazil, mixes various styles into a highly contagious, dance-laden pulse. Elba, who celebrates her 75th birthday next month, released her first album back in 1979. Called “Ave de Prata”, it features her cousin Zé Ramalho, Danilo Caymmi, Wagner Tiso, and many others and remains one of her best albums in her vast catalogue. Her most recent album is “Isso Quer Dizer Amor”, released in 2024.
