Jordan Rakei: New Album and Tour
One of our favorite artists and a constant name in the Gina and Gustel household since 2016, Jordan Rakei, just announced the release of “A Safe Place To Be Wild” on October 30th, two years after his five-paw album “The Loop”. Jordan says of the new album: “In the past, I’ve liked creating albums that have a unified sound or lyrical theme, but this record is unfiltered. There are no rules. Every day I made a song; I wanted to embrace who I was at that exact moment. It’s an ambitious record in terms of vulnerability, and it feels like a development of The Loop. I went to an incredible studio (Abbey Road) and recorded with musicians for two weeks, so it wasn’t a bedroom record. It’s nice to have an expansive sound while also having so much variety across the record.”
Jordan also announced tour dates for Europe next year (see below) and it seems that this time, we’re in for a real treat: “What’s also really exciting is the live show. Off the back of my last tour, which I feel perfectly encapsulated The Loop and that story of mine, I was determined to create a completely new live show that tells a whole new story and shines a new light on me as an artist. Bridging the gap between theatre and gig. I’m really excited to present this show to the world because it’s different. It’s different to anything you’ve seen me do before, and I think that’s what’s exciting. I don’t want to just go on stage and play instruments and sing the songs. I want to create an experience for the audience!”
