Far Out Recordings Artists Fabiano do Nascimento and Nyron Higor on Tour
We’ve always been a fan of British independent music label Far Out Recordings, set up in 1994 by Brazilian music enthusiast Joe Davis. The label specializes in quality Brazilian music and has released albums by Marcos Valle, Sabrina Malheiros, Bruno Berle, Joyce Moreno, Azymuth, Arthur Verocai, and so many more. In recent years, Far Out came out with totally stunning, top-of-the-year albums from Bruno Berle, Nyron Higor, Fabiano do Nascimento and, just last year, the fascinating debut by Phylipe Nunes Araújo.
Two of the Far Out recording artists are out on European tours this winter. In March, Nyron Higor, who released his self-titled album last year and who easily weaves together the music of his Northeastern Brazil home traditions with the MPB, will be joined on his tour by label mate Bruno Berle and batataboy, who both worked with him in close collaboration on his album. It will be his first headlining tour. And guitarist and composer Fabiano do Nascimento, an absolutely fascinating musician ever since his debut came out about a decade ago, is preparing the release of his next album “Vila”, his most ambitious work to date where he has worked with a sixteen piece orchestra led by trombonist and arranger Vittor Santos. The music on the album is totally breathtaking and boasts with utterly beautiful compositions and extremely imaginative playing.
