Lady Blackbird Announces New Album, Tour

Los Angeles-based vocalist Marley Munroe, better known as Lady Blackbird, has just announced the release of her second album, three years after the critically acclaimed and successful “Black Acid Soul“, which also received five paws here. “Slang Spirituals”, due September 13th, is once again produced by Chris Seefried. The 11 tracks offer a lot of variety, from gospel to folk, from soul to psychedelic, all enhanced by the immense power of her voice. The album will also be released as a clear vinyl with a gatefold cover. And also, she just announced a European tour for November. After witnessing her in Rotterdam and Berlin a couple of years ago, we anticipate another run of showstopping performances from her. A first single, “Reborn”, came out just a week ago. There is a beautiful ballad, “Man On A Boat”, a “Benny & The Jets”-type Gospel-inflected “If I Told You”, and the 8-minute plus dramatic opus “Whatever His Name”. A full review will be published closer to the release date.
