Rockit Festival Announces First Names For 7th Edition

One of our favorite festivals just announced its first names for this year’s edition: named after Herbie Hancock’s eponymous hit from the early 80s, Rockit strives for an adventurous, innovative, and progressive programming. I had the chance to visit the last two rounds and both visits still resonate to this day. The festival will take place on Saturday, November 8th, at De Oosterpoort in Groningen, a lovely city with exceptionally chilled vibes. Here are the first names which already sound very promising:

Arooj Aftab will play with the Metropole Orkest, led by Jeff Buckley. Maya Delilah, who just released her debut album on Blue Note, is also on board. As are Immanuel Wilkins, Reuben James, Vincen Garcia, Mary Halvorson Amaryllis Sextet, Makaya McCraven, Brandee Younger Trio, Avishai Cohen Quartet, Hiromi’s Sonicwonder, Alabaster Deplume, Riley Mulherkar, and .multibeat. More names will be announced in the upcoming months.
