Lau Ro Previews Second Album
Lau Ro, the São Paulo-born, Brighton-based artist, non-binary singer and composer, will release his second album “Lau” on June 26th on the Brooklyn-based Mexican Summer label (also home to fellow Brazilian Sessa). The album is a tender and deeply introspective collection of orchestral psych-pop songs, recorded during a period of physical and emotional challenges, according to Lau’s Bandcamp page. The first single, “Conclusão”, was released in mid April. The haunting vocals and psychedelic backdrop hit us immediately. Two years after his celebrated debut LP “Cabana” (Far Out Recordings), Lau Ro once again shows his impeccably vulnerable style.
The second single off the album, “Simplesmente”, which came out yesterday, is even more sensitive and psyched-up and utterly unique. You can listen to the two tracks and pre-order his album through his Bandcamp site. He will also play some of the new material in London on July 30th at SJQ, the venue and bar in the heart of Dalston.
