Henry Fambrough 1938-2024
The last surviving original member of The Spinners, Henry Fambrough, died yesterday at the age of 85. He sang lead with the group together with Bobbie Smith and Philippe Wynne. The group formed in Detroit in the early 60s and had a string of hits, like the Stevie Wonder-penned “It’s A Shame”, “The Rubberband Man”, “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love”, “I’ll Be Around”, “Then Came You” with Dionne Warwick, or “Working My Way Back To You”, just to name a few. Rest in Heaven and thank you for the music!
