Gina Releases Her New Weekly Playlist
Since January 19th, Gina has released a sixty minute playlist with new music every week. We get so much stuff in every day that we decided to somehow channel the best of the bunch. This week, we feature music from the new LPs by Leon Bridges and Thee Sacred Souls, “Leon” and “Got A Story To Tell”. Thee Sacred Souls are on tour in Europe in February. Look out for tour dates on this side of the pond for Leon soon! There is a new Ezra Collective LP called “Dance, No One’s Watching” on Partisan Records. It features a brilliant track with Olivia Dean too. Jalen Ngonda has a new track out now. He’s back in the UK and the Netherlands in March. Singer Jessie Laine Powell has dropped her second album “My Life Journey”. Features a Michael Franks tune and Luther’s “Make Me A Believer” in a heartbreaking rendition.
We’ve been bathing in singer, songwriter, musician Relyae‘s smooth new “Unknown” EP and can’t get enough of his mellow mellow right on music. Also, saxophonist Boney James has a third track out from his upcoming album “Slow Burn” (October 18th), which will also come out on vinyl. Kiwi drummer Myele Manzanza has teamed up with London duo Marble Sun for a great remix of “Homesick”, which also features singer Olivia Williams. Brazilian singer Dora Morelenbaum, daughter of Jaques and Paula Morelenbaum, drops her debut LP “Pique” on October 18th. She’s on tour this November. Also from Brazil, São Paulo actually, trio Caixa Cubo will release their mix of jazz and Brazilian on London based Far Out Recordings on November 15th. “Modo Avião” features some Rhodes too! Singer Jane Monheit‘s new album “Jane” comes out October 18th. The nice folks at Athens Of The North just came out with East Coast Love Affair‘s LP “Musica Para Todos” with For Mankind. Berlin based Too Slow To Disco just dropped a DoctorSoul remix of Michael Franks’s “When Sly Calls”. And please check out Arjuna Oakes from New Zealand.
