Jarrod Lawson Adding Germany To His Tour Itinerary

Jarrod_LawsonSinger, keyboardist, composer and producer Jarrod Lawson, who gave us the best soul album of 2014, adds three stops to his European tour schedule for April/May.

Jarrod’s album is clearly the most soulful album of the past year with stunning vocals, a superb production, deep lyrics, and crisp background vocal arrangements. I first heard him back in 2011 on trumpeter Farnell Newton‘s album “Class Is Now In Session” and always thought: who is that vocalist? Three years later we had the answer. That’s how long he was working on his debut. And the result is simply stunning. The Portland, Oregon native had already played the UK last summer and will come to Japan for two shows in early March with an additional stop at the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta before he will embark on his European tour which begins at New Morning in Paris on April 8th.

He will then play the Gateshead Jazz Festival in the UK, London’s Jazz Café on April 11th and 12th, Bird in Rotterdam on April 17th, the Northsea Jazz Club in Amsterdam on April 18th, Band On The Wall in Manchester on May 8th and the Southport Weekender on May 9th. Expect some more dates to follow and here are the three dates for Germany: Altes Pfandhaus Köln on April 14th, A-Trane in Berlin on April 29th and Jazz Club Minden on April 30th. Don’t miss and spread the word!

Line-up: Jarrod Lawson (voc, keys), Chance Hayden (g), Chris Friesen (b), Josh Corry (dr), Tahirah Memory (voc), Molly Foote (voc).
