North Sea Jazz Announces First Artists
After two years of cancelling due to the Corona pandemic, the North Sea Jazz Festival announced its first batch of artists earlier today. We can’t wait to be back in Rotterdam after the great 2019 edition and here’s an overview of some of the confirmed artists for this year. There will be more names to be added in the next couple of months. The full schedule will be announced sometime in April.
Confirmed so far are, in no particular order, Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Melody Gardot, Yola, Lady Blackbird, Jordan Rakei, Diana Krall, Gary Bartz & Maisha, Ravi Coltrane “Cosmic Music: A Contemporary Exploration into the music of John & Alice Coltrane featuring Brandee Younger”, Tom Misch, Theo Croker, Julian Lage, Gretchen Parlato, Gregory Porter, Joe Armon Jones, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Michael Kiwanuka, Charles Lloyd & The Marvels feat. Bill Frisell, Ron Carter Foursight Quartet, Ambrose Akinmusire, Ibrahim Maalouf, Kassa Overall, Dianne Reeves, Cory Wong, Jacob Collier, Melanie Charles, Michael Mayo, Immanuel Wilkis, Nala Sinephro, Joel Culpepper, Stacey Kent, Moses Sumney, Vijay Iyer Trio, and many more.
