RADIOHOP – Zathura

Introducing RADIOHOP, a young, four-man group from Amsterdam. They met while studying jazz at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. The four band members hail from three different countries: Joshua Lutz plays keyboards, Johnny Biner guitar, Joel Svedberg bass, and Euan Jenkins drums. Inspired by the music of J Dilla, Azymuth, Herbie Hancock, Kaidi Tatham, D’Angelo, and more, their very promising mixture of jazz, hip hop, soul, electronica, and funk can be heard on their very first single “Zathura”, which just came out a couple of months ago. The track was released on the independent, Amsterdam-based Wicked Wax label which is committed, so they say, to push the sound of today. I really dig the keys and drums of “Zathura”. And spacy guitar parts are thrown in here too.

RADIOHOP will play this year’s Supersonic Jazz Festival in Amsterdam, which will run from November 14th to 19th. More info on this spectacular event coming soon on these pages.
