Audrey Powne “Feed The Fire” Remixes

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Audrey Powne from Melbourne is revving up the release of her debut album in April on BBE Records. The title track, “Feed The Fire”, has just come out last Friday. Audrey, who was featured on a 2019 Brownswood Recordings compilation, is not only playing trumpet and keys and writing songs and singing on the album, but she also composed, wrote the string arrangements and produced the album too.

First single and title track of the album comes with four Atjazz remixes, including two instrumental versions. I really like his “Deeper” remix stripped down and trippy, accentuating Audrey’s unique vocals and also shifting the focus to her brilliant trumpet playing. Combine this with a deep house beat, add it with a percussive stance and what you get is a perfect jazz/house tune with lyrics which were written in response to the Australian bushfires in 2019 which make this all the more dramatic and mystical. Not so sure about the Musclecars remixes; they tend to be too disturbing. But still, we can’t wait to hear the full-length album. In the meantime, make sure to check her single out now.
