We just wanted to take this opportunity and wish Quincy Jones the happiest of birthdays. The last time I saw him was during an APAP showcase in New York back in January where he presented a few of the acts of Quincy Jones Productions at Subrosa. Artists like Jacob Collier, Alfredo Rodriguez, or Justin Kauflin keep the legendary artist’s legacy alive.
The picture was taken during his last Berlin visit in the fall of 2010 when I had the chance to interview him. He also was so kind and signed a copy of my 1957 vinyl copy of his album “This Is How I Feel About Jazz”. When I showed him the LP, he was complaining about the fact that he was the only one from that recording session still alive.
