International Jazz Day April 30th

International Jazz Day 2017This year’s Host City for the International Jazz Day is Havana, Cuba. This annual special event, always celebrated on April 30th, is made for promoting intercultural dialogue through respect and understanding and unites people from all over the world. As usual, there will also be an All-Star Global Concert which has Herbie Hancock and Chucho Valdés serving as music directors and John Beasley and Emilio Vega serving as co-directors.

The concert will include artists such as Richard Bona, Ambrose Akinmusire, Carl Allen, Till Brönner, Kenny Garrett, Kurt Elling, Ivan Lins, Antonio Hart, Igor Butman, Marc Antoine, Marcus Miller, Takuya Kuroda, A Bu, Regina Carter, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Christian Sands, Esperanza Spalding, Ben Williams, Dhafer Youssef, Antonio Sánchez, and Gianluca Petrella, among others.

The concert will be presented at the Gran Teatro de la Habana Alicia Alonso, and will be live-streamed by UNESCO.
