Just a few days after the new soft lockdown in Germany, Berlin’s Jazzfest this year had to find ways to react. The Berlin-based concerts will now be streamed online as well. Over the course of four festival days (November 5-8), there will be 27 projects in total. Kicking off this year’s festival is a discussion about the organization of an event such as this during a pandemic, and the overall relevance of the US election for culture, for jazz, for life. Among the guest speakers are Jim Staley via Zoom from New York’s Roulette club, vibraphonist Joel Ross who has just released his latest album “Who Are You?”, and Jim Black.
You can find all info and all live streams online. Let’s hope that we will soon be able to visit festivals, shows, and concerts again in person.
