We’re very happy to learn that Brazilian artist Lucas Arruda is back with his fourth LP in April. “Ominira” is the follow-up to his brilliant “Onda Nova” album from 2019 and will be released on April 19th on Favorite Recordings.
In a press release, Lucas says about the album: “Ominira is about freedom, art and music. It’s also about honoring my ancestors and my musical influences. I delved a little deeper into my African roots, in addition to Brazilian music and rhythms, and my longtime passion for Soul/Funk. After a long production process I feel like I made my best album. So, I present to you OMINIRA, a new chapter in my career. Have a nice trip!”
The album was composed and produced by Lucas and he gets some support from local musicians such as Roger Rocha (sax), Thiago Arruda (guitar), Italo Vinicius (drums) and Flavia K and Andre Motta (vocals). First song “The Mountain” is now available through his bandcamp page.
