Adi Oasis – Multiply

Singer, bassist and producer Adi Oasis, a French-Caribbean artist who recorded as Adeline before and released a double album in 2018, is now back with her first full-length album under that name, due out on March 3rd and called “Lotus Flow”, with the vinyl version to be released three weeks later. As a teaser, there is a 4-track EP currently circulating. We reviewed her single “Whisper My Name” from her self-titled 7-track EP back in 2021. The year before, she already had released another EP called “Intérimes”, which later had a remix sequel to it.

Adi Oasis "Multiply"

“Multiply”, with its rich, thumping groove, reminds me of “Party For One” by Mama’s Gun. It’s like retro soul meets neo soul on the brassy “Adonis” featuring KIRBY, where comparisons to Teena Marie pop up again in terms of composition and arrangement. Especially rewarding and thrilling is the percussive, midtempo soul gem “Get It Got It”, with her voice soaring and floating effortlessly and exuding tons of allure. Comparisons to Erykah Badu are in the air for her latest single “Red To Violet”, where she teams up with Chicago-based singer, songwriter, and poet Jamila Woods. We can’t wait for more.

“Lotus Flow” will see the light of day on double vinyl on March 24th.
