Berlinale Number 68

68. BerlinaleIt’s that time of year again next month. The 68th Berlin Film Festival runs from February 15th to February 25th. And Gina will report again from the Berlinale. 23 of the 24 movies of this year’s Competition have now been announced. Among them: the International Premiere of Gus van Sant‘s “Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot” featuring Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, and Udo Kier, the World Premiere of “Eva” by Benoit Jacquot featuring Isabelle Huppert, the International Premiere of “Damsel” with Robert Pattinson, the debut and World Premiere of Marcelo Martinessi’s “Las Herederas”, the World Premiere of José Padilha‘s “7 Days In Entebbe”, the World Premiere of “Museo” by Alonso Ruizpalacios featuring Gael García Bernal, and the World Premiere of Steven Soderbergh‘s “Unsane”.

Opening movie is going to be Wes Anderson‘s “Isle Of Dogs – Ataris”; the animated movie will feature the voices of Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand, Yoko Ono, and Harvey Keitel. Jury president this year is Germany’s own Tom Tykwer. And of course, there will be a lot of things to explore in all of the other sections of this highly popular Festival, most notably for this writer in the Panorama and Panorama Documentaries.
