Deutscher Jazzpreis 2025
This year’s German Jazz Prize will be staged in Cologne again. On June 13th, 22 acts will receive their awards, among them singer extraordinaire Uschi Brüning, who will be celebrated for her Lifetime Achievement. Among the jury members are Gilles Peterson, Danilo Pérez, Nicole Mitchell, and Matana Roberts. Live acts performing during the ceremony are Nduduzu Makhathini, Philo Tsoungui, and Sonic Interventions. All three of them are nominated this year. Just a few days ago, a partnership was announced between the German Jazz Price and the NUEJAZZ Festival in Nürnberg, Festival of the Year in 2024. This year’s edition, which will run from October 17th to November 4th, will feature nominees and winners of this year’s event as well as past winners and nominees (October 25th).
Next year’s Deutscher Jazzpreis will move to Bremen as part of the annual Jazzahead trade fair (April 25th). Check out all nominees and all other info right here.
