Jazz Calendars for 2015

Did you make your plans for 2015 yet? If not, maybe these two calendars will help you make at least some of them.

Sven Thielmann produced two beautiful calendars with pictures of pianists and saxophonists he has made over the years.

“Jazz Saxophonisten 2015” is not only a beautiful work of art for jazz enthusiasts, but also for lovers of good photography as well. Thielmann has some unique shots from Sonny Rollins, Ornette Coleman, Benny Golson, and Peter Brötzmann and has used the wide variety the instrument has to offer: from the relatively small soprano sax to the huge bass saxophone.

Thielmann’s “Jazz Pianisten 2015” features 13 portraits of musicians like Keith Jarrett, Dave Brubeck, Carla Bley, or Herbie Hancock with Chick Corea. “A good concert photo is like a great composition: fine-tuned to the smallest detail”, says Thielmann who is also a journalist living in Essen.
