New Matthew Halsall Coming Up

Trumpeter, bandleader and composer Matthew Halsall will release “An Ever Changing View” on September 8th on Gondwana Records. Composed in Wales and in Bridlington, he wanted to create a feeling of “openness and escapism”. If you check out his new single “Calder Shapes”, an homage to American sculptor Alexander Calder and one of the greatest inspirations for the music on this album, you can hear Matthew’s deep love for spiritual jazz, electronica, and soul. There is a seldom-heard celeste at the beginning of the tune and a wonderful Rhodes sound backing it up. It’s the second track to be released from his upcoming album after “Water Street”.
