Weekly Playlist From Gina Now Online

We’ve just put together our latest weekly 60-minute playlist of new music. It features a second track from Madeleine Peyroux‘s upcoming album “Let’s Walk”, which will come out on June 28th. She turns to her bluesier side for “Showman Dan”. She celebrated her 50th birthday last Friday. There is also another piece from Kenny Barron‘s new album “Beyond This Place”, out on May 10th on Artwork Records and on vinyl too. On “We See”, his quartet member Immanuel Wilkins is featured on sax. Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Alex Puddu has a new single out. “Pullover Grigio” is his first in Italian. We also have new music from Sheila E.; on “Anacaona”, she is accompanied by Rubén Blades. Her new album “Bailar” is also out on vinyl.

“Libations: Omnyama” is a meditative, spiritual track from South African pianist, healer, and philosopher Nduduzu Makhathini. His forthcoming Blue Note album “Unomkhubulwane” (out June 7th and available on black vinyl and colored vinyl) tackles the history of oppression in Africa. We also have a track from Janis Siegel and pianist Yaron Gershovsky‘s new duo album “The Colors Of My Life” where they explore the music of Cy Coleman. Plus new music form Kandace Springs, Raúl Midón (new album “Lost & Found” coming April 26th), and vibraphonist Alexis Valet. His new album “Following The Sun” just came out and features Aaron Parks, Dayna Stephens, Joe Martin, and Kush Adabey.
