36th Jazzfestival Saalfelden

August 27th to 30th will be this year’s dates for the Jazzfestival in Saalfelden in Austria. Among this year’s acts is Chris Nightcap‘s “Bigmouth” with Tony Malaby, Chris Cheek, Matt Mitchell, and Gerald Cleaver. The American/Brazilian project “Return the Tides: Ascension Suite & Holy Ghost” by Rob Mazurek and Black Cube SP also promises to be one of the highlights this year.

Jazzfestival SaalfeldenAlso on the list: the Angelica Sanchez Quartet, Mostly Other People Do The Killing, Steve Coleman and the Council Of Balance, Thomas de Pourquery playing the music of Sun Ra, pianist Matthew Shipp in a solo performance, the Christian Muthspiel Trio, James Blood Ulmer with his “Are You Glad To Be In America” project, Donkey Monkey, and a lot more.
