Alan Hampton – Passerine

I almost forgot to mention that Alan Hampton, one of my favorite composers and singers, has released a new track. “Passerine” came out in late December and it is another gem of a pop song. Except for Alan, who has worked with Robert Glasper, Sufjan Stevens, Gretchen Parlato, Meshell Ndegeocello, and many more, they just don’t write these kind of songs anymore. I hope that there is a new album on the horizon after his still brilliant “The Moving Sidewalk” (2011) and “Origami For The Fire” (2014).

“Passerine” also shows his trademark, no-frills voice which is instantly recognizable. It follows last year’s equally infectious “Aren’t You Glad”. Check out “Passerine” below.
