So it’s been a while since my last post here, but I had to get started for the 2019 open air season at our cozy little beer garden in Berlin-Pankow. We opened the “Live On Terrace” season on Easter Sunday with a magnificent concert by the great Desney Bailey and her trio and last Sunday, Helmut Bruger and his trio wowed a wonderful audience. We had to add a few seats so for next month, please remember that there won’t be any regular jazz concert on the third Sunday, but rather a 6-show marathon for “Fete de la Musique” on June 21st. Five people will open their gardens for live music, starting at 2pm on that particular Friday and the final concert of the day will be staged on our main terrace.
Participating artists will be Three 4 Soul, the Joel Holmes Expansion, Maiko Andreo, Roland Satterwhite, Dana Shanti, and Siri Svegler & Thomas Guitar Walter.
In other festival news, we’re preparing our trip to this year’s North Sea Jazz Festival where we will attend after a four-year hiatus. Gladys Knight has just been confirmed. You can see the full programme right here. “http://www.northseajazz.com/”>http://www.northseajazz.com/
Gina is in good spirits. She has easily adjusted to the garden life where we spend most of the time between early April and late September. She is already chasing mice and foxes and continues to be everybody’s darling on site.
Stay put for our reviews of new releases from Rahsaan Patterson, Lasperanza, Vivian Sessoms, and Serena Fisseau.
