Gary Taylor Announces New Album
One of my favorite singers and songwriters, the Los Angeles based Gary Taylor, has just announced a new album to be released on June 26th. “From The Vault of the 80s” features unreleased tracks from this fruitful period. The multi-instrumentalist and producer has recorded a total of nine albums between his first “G.T.” (1983) and his last album “Retro Blackness” (2006). Last year, he released a Christmas single, the wondrous “Christmas That I Know”, in signature, deeply relaxing Gary Taylor style.
Every album still resonates over here and Gary, who is the cousin of legendary songwriter and producer Skip Scarborough, has also penned some timeless soul tunes like “Good Love” (Anita Baker), “Just Gets Better With Time” (The Whispers), “Keep In Touch” (Grover Washington, Jr. with Jean Carne), “Living Without A Heart” (Vanessa Rubin), “Do It To Me Baby” (Michael Wycoff), “Let’s Talk” (Carl Anderson), “I Like My Body” (Chico DeBarge), “I’m Coming Back” (Vesta, Lalah Hathaway), “Love U 2 The Limit” (Mac Band), “Love Stories” (Jennifer Holliday), “Rest My Lips” (Walter & Scotty), and “I Won’t Stop” (Will Downing).
