Joshua Redman Blue Note Debut

Saxophonist Joshua Redman will release his Blue Note debut “Where Are We” on September 15th. It’s going to be his first-ever vocal album with singer Gabrielle Cavassa. Gabrielle, California-born vocalist with Italian descent who now lives in New Orleans, was co-winner at the 2021 International Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition. She released her debut in 2020. Joshua’s album makes references to special geographical locations and features “Going To Chicago” (Count Basie), “Manhattan” (Rodgers & Hart), “Streets Of Philadelphia” (Bruce Springsteen), “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” (Jimmy Webb), or “Alabama” (John Coltrane), as well as a few originals.

Helping him out on the album are Nicholas Payton, Joel Ross, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Peter Bernstein and his new band featuring Aaron Parks, Joe Sanders, and Brian Blade. The album will be out on exclusive color vinyl and black vinyl. First single “Chicago Blues” is now out. Check it out on all digital platforms now.
