More record store visits on Thursday, like Solo Records & Tapes on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak or Street Corner Music on Greenfield in Oak Park. Peggy Lee, Noel Pointer, Aretha Franklin, The Jones Girls, etc.
I’ve also toured the Henry Ford Museum where they have a lot of artifacts from the American history, from cars to furniture, from the chair Abraham Lincoln was sitting in when he was assassinated to the bus Rosa Parks was on when she was defending her civil rights.
I’m back in New York after three very entertaining and interesting days in Detroit. Watching this pathetic inaugural speech at the airport and now seeing more protesters on the streets than visitors during the inauguration is both unsettling and promising.
For some detraction, on my last night on this fabulous trip, I’m looking forward to seeing the wonderful Bobbi Humphrey playing at Ginny’s Supper Club tonight and later, Jarrod Lawson with new songs at the Iridium.
