Jazz in Marciac

This Jazz Festival has established itself as one of the hottest and well respected ones in the heart of France’s Gascogne region. Since 1978, this midsummer Festival has come up with great programming each year and the 2015 edition is no exception. The Festival starts on Monday, July 27th and runs until August 16th. There will be 37 concerts in the big tent, 30 concerts in the L’Astrada concert hall, and over 120 concerts at the Festival Bis.

Starting off the celebrations: the Kenny Garrett Quintet plus Joshua Redman and The Bad Plus. Also performing this year will be Chick Corea in a solo piano concert, the Stanley Clarke Band, the Shai Maestro Trio, Lisa Simone (Nina’s daughter), Melody Gardot, Lee Ritenour & Dave Grusin, Larry Carlton, the Kurt Rosenwinkel Trio, Caetano Veloso & Gilberto Gil in a duo performance, Roberto Fonseca, Chucho Valdes, Marcus Miller, Yaron Herman, China Moses, the Enrico Rava New Quartet, Jason Moran & Robert Glasper in a duo concert, Ulf Wakenius Trio, the Wynton Marsalis Septet, Kenny Barron & Dado Moroni, Archie Shepp, Emile Parisien, Rick Margitza, Joachim Kühn Trio, George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic, Robin McKelle & The Flytones, and lots more.
