We Are KING Celebrating David Bowie

BBE Music are back with what seems to be one of the highlights of this upcoming spring’s releases. Masterminded by label head Peter Adarkwah and Drew McFadden, the Bowie tribute “Modern Love” will be available from May 28th. First single off the album, and a new recording from our beloved We Are KING since a couple of years, is “Space Oddity”. Sisters Amber and Paris Strother opted for the early 70s classic and add an ethereal and lively touch to it, including some space-aged rock guitar.

The tribute album features acts from the Soul, Jazz, Funk, R&B, and Gospel world and will include performances by Jeff Parker and The New Breed, Khruangbin, Helado Negro, Matthew Tavares, Meshell NdégeOcello, Nia Andrews, and L’Rain, among others.

Bowie always flirted with Soul and Funk and Jazz habits. Think about his 1975 LP “Young Americans” which had Luther Vandross, David Sanborn, and Ralph MacDonald, or the Nile Rodgers-produced “Let’s Dance” from 1983.
